13 Point Roster System in Universities
Kalyan Ashram Meets Home Minster to demand for the Restoration old 200 point system
A delegation of Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (ABVKA) met Rajnath Singh, Minister for Home Affairs GoIndia on 13-02-2019 in relation to the restoration on 200 point roster for the appointment of teaching faculties in higher educational institutes. They had also met Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Human Resource Development, Juel Oram, Minister of Tribal Affairs and Dr. Nand Kumar Sai, Chairman, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes on 11-02-2019 pressing for the same demand. Members of the delegation pressed with these higher authorities that there is a strong need to bring ordinance to do away with the 13 point roster system as ordered by the Allahabad High Court which subsequently was upheld by the Supreme Court. They pointed out that the current arrangement for the calculation of reserved seats would cause gross injustice to the candidates of backward communities particularly that of scheduled tribes, thereby provoking sense of alienation among them. Therefore, they pressed for the ordinance on the matter with the sense of urgency. The delegation further demanded that recruitment process in such institutes must be stopped till such an arrangement is made.
National Executive Members of ABVKA Ramchandra Kharadi (Udaipur), Prakash Kale (Bhopal), Sukhi Oram, Vice-President, Vanvasi Kalyan Kendra, Jharkhand, Dr. Deepak Kujur, Dr. Madhabi Debbarman, Shri Vivekanand Nartam (Delhi) were part of the delegation.
