Sad demise of Shri Jagdish ji Sharda
Shri Jagdish Chandra Shastri Sharda was a swayamsevak from Punjab had taken sangh responsibilities in Ludhiana before 1947. After moving to Kenya, he initiated first shakha outside Bharat on Makar Sankranti day of 1947. Countless swayamsevaks have been inspired by his narration of first sangh prarthana on the deck of a ship when he traveled from Mumbai to Kenya with fellow swayamsevaks whom he met on the boat itself.
Always cheerful and humble, Shastriji was instrumental in establishing sangh work in Kenya, UK and Mauritius before moving to Canada. He had attended most of the Vishwa Vibhag programs including many Vishwa Sangh Shibirs in Bharat. He has inspired many swayamsevaks through his letters, personal conversations and phone calls and was always eager to know about the growth of sangh work in Bharat and in other parts of the world.
