Kottayam, Kerala (16 March).
The Aravindam Short Film Fest successfully concluded, honoring talented independent filmmakers. Films that showcased uniqueness, sincerity, and realistic storytelling were recognized with awards in various categories, including direction, acting, cinematography, editing, and screenplay.
General Category Awards
Two films won the award for Best Film:
- Molanjhi, directed by Mahesh Madhu (Produced by Vijay Govind Nath & Ambrose Kooliyath)
- My Father is Afraid of Water, directed by Prateek Rajendra Srivastava (Produced by Rajendra Pratap Srivastava, Ankur Srivastava, and Prateek Rajendra Srivastava)
Prateek Rajendra Srivastava was awarded Best Director for My Father is Afraid of Water.
- Best Actor: Mohan Agashe (My Father is Afraid of Water)
- Best Actress: Sreeja KV, M.N. Anita, Devasena M.N., and Padmaja P. (for their remarkable performances in Molanjhi)
- Best Editor: Piyush Thakur (The First Film)
- Best Cinematographer: Ashok Meena (Skyward)
- Best Screenplay: Mahesh Madhu & Sharmil Shivaram (Molanjhi)
Campus Category Awards
- Best Film: The Scent of Tulsi, directed by Utsav (Produced by DLC State University of Performing & Visual Arts)
- Best Director: Nikhil Rajendra Shinde (Dump Yard)
- Best Actor: Parameswaran Kuriyathi (Vasu)
- Best Actress: Ashwathi Ramadas (Bars)
- Best Editor: Chaitanya V Shembekar (Dump Yard)
- Best Cinematographer: Abhishek Saini (The Scent of Tulsi)
- Best Screenplay: Nipin Narayanan (Aa Divasathinte Ormakku)
Special Award for Social Responsibility
The Special Award for Social Responsibility was presented to Man Aasai, a film that highlighted the theme of identity. It was directed by Arivazhagan and produced by Kalaiselvan Shivaji.
Renowned filmmaker Shyamaprasad inaugurated the closing ceremony. Ettumanoor Radhakrishnan, President of Thamp Film Society, presided over the event.
