    Guwahati. Tension erupted at Lejai in Dibrugarh district of upper Assam following the murder of a teenager. The boy identified as Saurabh Das was allegedly killed by miscreants on Friday night. His body was thrown into the Sesa river by the killers.

    Though a team of the State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) personnel has been carrying out operations to recover the body in the river, no trace has been found yet. Meanwhile, police has arrested three persons including one Rahimuddin in connection with the murder. They are being interrogated.


    According to local people, the boy was killed over some love affair related disputes. “It is a pre-planned murder. We demand a proper investigation into the incident. We will not remain silent till the culprits get strict punishment,” said a local man.

    Body of Saurabh Das who was allegedly killed by his girlfriend’s family in Dibrugarh town has been found in the Sesa river. The team of State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) personnel recovered the body from the river on Sunday morning.

    “Several injuries were noticed on the body. It was a pre-planned murder. We demand stringent punishment for the culprits,” said a family member.
    Tension has been gripping Lejai area in Dibrugarh since the youth went missing on Friday night. The boy was allegedly killed by his girlfriend’s family and the body was thrown into the river. Police has already arrested three accused.

    “The murder of Saurabh Das should be tried in fast-track court. There should be no communalism in the name of this incident,” said a local resident.
