New Delhi. “Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was a person with holistic national thinking. The feeling of patriotism was inborn in him and he dedicated his entire life for the nation. Today’s generation draws inspiration from his patriotic national vision,” said RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale Ji, while releasing English translation of the RSS founder’s biography at GMC Balayogi Auditorium in Parliament House, on March 1, 2024.
Titled as ‘Man of the Millennia: Dr Hedgewar’ and published by Suruchi Prakashan, New Delhi, the biography is English translation of the original biography written in Marathi by the late Nana Hari Palkar. It has been translated into English by the late Dr. Anil Nene. Governor of Andhra Pradesh Justice (Retd) S. Abdul Nazeer and Executive Chairman of Asianet News Shri Rajesh Kalra joined the function as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Sarkaryavah Ji said many institutions across the world are today studying the ideology which forms the basis of the RSS. He appealed to the people to understand the Sangh from within and not from a distance. “Stay with us if you like or go away anytime if you don’t like,” he said adding that to understand the Sangh, one needs the heart as well as mind, because the Sangh workers work with the nation first feeling.
The RSS Sarkaryavah said the English biography of RSS founder would prove to be very useful for English readers to understand his life and works. He said Dr. Hedgewar developed the feeling of ‘we’ in Sangh and built a team whose priority is social upliftment, national self-respect and man making. After forming the Sangh, Dr. Hedgewar said if you find any fault in me, elect another person in my place. I will work with the same national spirit with them. Dattatreya Hosabale Ji said Dr. Hedgewar was a calm, patient, dedicated, sensitive and a personality who understood the psychology of society.
Andhra Pradesh Governor Justice (Retd) S. Abdul Nazeer said the whole world is today drawing inspiration from the work and institutions built by the Sangh and its associated organisations.
