“Ek Gaon, Ek Tiranga” campaign by ABVP witnessed 1,09,400 flag hoisting events

New Delhi. The celebration of “Ek Gaon, Ek Tiranga” campaign by ABVP witnessed 1,09,400 flag hoisting events at 76,643 villages and 23,887 slums across the country. 20,41,636 citizens participated in the Abhiyan at different locations in the country.

From Andaman Nicobar Islands to Moirang in Manipur and from Baramulla in Jammu Kashmir to the far off Navrangpur in Malkangiri Orissa, millions of fellow citizens participated in the celebration of the 75th Independence Day. Be it flood affected areas or naxal infected districts, ABVP karyakartas successfully organised the campaign across the country.

RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale started the campaign by hoisting the flag at Bhopal office. In special programs, the festival of Independence was celebrated with the people of transgender community in Lucknow and Madurai, flag hoisting was done by freedom fighter Ramdev Mukhiya in Vanvasi village Domath at Indo-Nepal border and 5000 people performed mass national anthem in Nauka Vihar of Gorakhpur. Other places witnessed Shobha Yatras, collectively singing the national anthem, Bharat Mata Pujan, cultural programmes, competitions etc. These programmes aimed at inculcating the sense of patriotism among the masses of our country.

ABVP believes that every citizen of the country had contributed to the freedom struggle, but the victory of the same was attributed to a selected few. Keeping this in mind, ABVP celebrated the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ by hoisting the national flag at every district in the country.

The unsung heroes of our freedom struggle were also remembered and their stories of valour were narrated to people. In the coming year, ABVP will call upon the youth to join the short-term Vistarak Yojna named ’75 Days for the Nation’, which would work to solve various problems of the country like environment issues etc. Apart from this, efforts will be made for literature creation, book publications, visiting villages of freedom fighters and compiling the saga of their valour.

National General Secretary of ABVP Nidhi Tripathi said, “The efforts of ABVP karyakartas across the country is indeed overwhelming. Today as the country enters into the 75th year of independence, the enthusiasm in the initial celebrations shown by our karyakartas is inspiring in itself.”
