New Delhi. NSA Ajit Doval, said that India would not have been partitioned if Subhash Chandra Bose was there at the time. He made these remarks while delivering the first Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Memorial lecture in the national capital.
He said, “I am not saying good or bad but there are very few parallels in the Indian history or the global history who had the audacity to sail against the current – and not an easy current the current of the British empire”.
Doval reminded that Muhammad Ali Jinnah had said he could only accept one leader and that is Subhash Chandra Bose.
“The idea has come to his mind that I will fight for freedom and I will not don’t beg for freedom because it’s my right and if I beg it will be conditional. India would not have been partitioned if Subhash Bose was alive, Jinnah said I can accept only one leader that is Subhash Bose.”
Ajit Doval lamented that history has been kind to Bose and also expressed his happiness that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is keen to resurrect it.
He said that the Britishers were afraid of the nationalism created by Subhash Chandra Bose, even after plane crash. He also said that Clement Atlee, the PM of UK, during India’s independence, said that it was because of Netaji that the British agreed to independence in 1947.
The lecture was organized by the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM) in India.
