Imphal – Three PLA workers arrested along with IED
Three PLA cadres including one woman street vendor have been arrested along with Improvised Explosive Device (IED) by the Imphal West district commando police. Various explosive materials were also recovered from the store room of the NRL Telepati City 1 oil pump.
The superintendent of police, Imphal West, K Meghachandra revealed the details of the arrests and the recovery of the explosive materials in a press conference held Monday evening┬аat his conference hall.
The cadres have been identified as one Samukcham Mobi Singh, 53, son of late S Iboyaima Singh of Khagempalli Panthak Leirak Macha; Huidrom Ningol Lairenlakpam ongbi Ibemcha Devi, 38, wife of late L Indrakumar Singh of Mongjam Mayai Leikai presently staying at Langol Warok Leikai and Lourembam Bhumeshwor Singh, 48, son of late L Ningthemjao of Khurai Thangjam Leikai.
Meghachandra said that based on specific information about movement of cadres of the proscribed RPF/PLA along National Highway-103, mobile frisking and checking was conducted at Singjamei parking area by district commando of Imphal West including women personnel. At about 1.30 pm one Maruti van bearing registration number MN01S 9757, white in colour, was seen coming from Kakwa side at a high speed, he said.
When the personnel tried to stop the speeding vehicle for verification, the van tried to flee from the commando personnel, he said while adding however, the vehicle was detained. During verification, two persons were found inside the vehicle and they identified themselves as Mobi and Ibemcha.
