Jammu. Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of J&K Police Ramban district seized the immovable properties of three persons for being involved in terrorist activities.
According to the police officials, the trio were arrested for allegedly hurling a grenade at the Police Post, Gool on August 2, last year.
The immovable properties include a single-storey house of Abdul Majid Lone at Sesal, a house of Mohammed Farooq, and a chemist shop of Shahdin Padyar.
These properties were attached in the presence of a Magistrate, on the orders of DGP, Dilbagh Singh under the Explosive Substance Act, UAPA 1967 and PDPP Act.
Earlier, SIU team led by its District Chairman, DSP, Vikar Ahmed Butt under the supervision of ASP, Gaurav Mahajan went to the specific locations under a posse of security men and pasted the notices on the houses amid drum-beat proclamation in the presence of Local Sarpanches, Panches and Chowkidars.
With the latest action, the properties now cannot be transferred, leased out and disposed of.
Govt teacher suspended for anti-government posts on social media
A school teacher in Ramban district of J&K was suspended on Friday for criticising government policies on social media.
An order issued by District Magistrate Ramban said after scrutinising Facebook pages, it has been found that Joginder Singh, a teacher posted at Chanderkote in Batote, has posted various posts criticising or commenting adversely about the government policies on his Facebook page.
“Besides, he has concealed his identity and made a fake Facebook ID with a profession as a socio-political activist and not a government teacher. He was suspended by the DM and the probe has been ordered against him.
