IS terrorist, Nabeel alias Sayyed Nabeel Ahmed, in his statement to the NIA said that the IS Kerala module planned to rob industrialists belonging to the Hindu and Christian communities. The IS terrorists targeted these industrialists and their institutions to generate income for terror activities. The terrorists had also made a list of big industrialists.
The IS Kerala module planned the robberies to find extra income in addition to the funds they were receiving from abroad. The terrorists had also begun the detailed planning for the operations. Ashif, Shiyas Siddhique, Nabeel Sayeed Ahmed, and another absconding person took part in the conspiracy.
Nabeel, arrested by the NIA, is the Kerala Amir of the Islamic State of Khorasan Province (IS-KP). The main conspirator in the creation of the Kerala module and the plans for bomb blasts in Kerala, Ashif, was the one who made Nabeel part of the terror activities.
The Malayalee terrorist groups working as part of the IS-KP, with their base in Kerala, had training centers and hideouts in neighbouring states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, etc. They also were in contact with terror groups in Andhra Pradesh and Telengana.
Those who were part of the IS groups in Kerala went to other states to find areas for clandestine meetings and weapon training. The sleeper cells of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) in these southern states have also given them ground support.
Those who took place in the secret meetings in Thrissur and Palakkad have also taken part in the clandestine meetings that took place in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Sayyed Nabeel Ahmed, who was arrested while to flee to Nepal from Chennai airport with forged documents, also took part in these meetings.
