Kerala – POCSO accused Abdul Hakkim jailed for 60 years

Pattambi, Kerala. An exemplary judgment is reported from POCSO Court in Pattambi, Palakkad district, Kerala. The accused, a Madarsa teacher, is sentenced to 60 years imprisonment and a penalty of three lakhs. Abdul Hakkim is alleged to have sexually abused a six-year-old girl at Madarsa.

Pattambi POCSO fast track court has pronounced rigorous imprisonment in the child molestation case. The accused, Abdul Hakkim, nattive of Kuruvambalam in Malappuram district got 60 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 3 lakhs. As per the verdict, the amount should be handed over to the girl’s family.

The verdict is for 20 years reach under three different Sections. There are several similar cases reported from here and there, but, most of them do not get deserving space in the media. Because, religion and party of the accused are important parameters for the pseudo secular media before they carry the news even though they do have social implications.
