New Delhi. NIA filed first Supplementary Charge-Sheet in NIA Special Court, Ranchi, u/s 120 (B) & 386 of IPC, sections 13, 17, 18, 20, 38, 39, 40 of UA (P) Act and section 17 of the CLA Act 1908, against 04 accused persons viz. 1. Manoj Kumar @ Manoj Kumar Yadav (Arrested) 2. Krishna Da @ Krishna Hansda @ Krishna Manjhi @ Avinash Da @ Saurabh Da @ Anand (Absconding), 3. Sunil Manjhi @ Sunil Murmu @ Sunil Soren @ Chopa Soren (Arrested) and 4. Manoj Kumar Choudhary (Arrested) all resident of district Giridih, Jharkhand.
Brief facts of the case are that on 22/01/2018, after collection of levy amount, accused Manoj Kumar @ Manoj Kumar Yadav, while he was en-route to deliver the extorted funds to the cadres of CPI (Maoist), was arrested by State Police and levy amount of Rs 6 Lakhs along with other incriminating documents were seized from his possession. A case in FIR No. 06/2018, dated 22.01.2018 was registered at PS Dumri, district- Giridih, Jharkhand. NIA took over the investigation of the case on 21.07.2018 and re-registered it.
Investigation has established that arrested accused Manoj Kumar Yadav, was working as an associate/ Over Ground Worker (OGW) of the CPI (Maoist), a proscribed terrorist organization, and was the conduit between the contractors and the banned organization. With no clue available initially, breakthrough in the investigation was achieved subsequently after extensive and meticulous examination of several witnesses and rigorous technical analysis.
Investigation has also revealed that arrested accused Sunil Manjhi, Regional Committee Member of CPI (Maoist), and absconding accused Krishna Da @ Krishna Hansda, Regional Committee Member (RCM) and Secretary, North Chotanagpur Zone of CPI (Maoist) were involved in raising funds by collecting levy through extortion for commission of terrorist activities by way of attacking security forces, damaging public and private property, disrupting public peace and killing innocent people. It was further established during investigation that Manoj Kumar Choudhary was also CPI (Maoist) cadre who used to collect the levy amounts and hand over the same to the other senior members of the proscribed organization.
