The North East Region of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch has announced its full support for the nationwide boycott campaign against Turkey, China, and Azerbaijan. SJM has appealed to citizens and businesses in the region to suspend all forms of travel and trade with these countries. This step comes in protest against the open support extended by Turkey and Azerbaijan to Pakistan during recent Bharat-Pakistan tensions, including the use of Turkish military drones by Pakistan.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Prof. Deepak Sharma, Regional Coordinator, North East Bharat, Swadeshi Jagran Manch, said, “North East Bharat stands with the rest of the country in boycotting Turkey and Azerbaijan. We urge all citizens and businesses in the region to avoid travel and trade with these countries until they respect India’s sovereignty and security concerns. Prof. Sharma also called for a boycott of foreign brands like Zara, Adidas, and Nike that import ready-made garments manufactured in Turkey and sell them in Bharat”.
SJM further highlighted that Bharat had provided humanitarian assistance to Turkey during the devastating 2023 earthquake, but Turkey’s growing military alliance with Pakistan now poses a direct threat to Bharat’s national security. The organization has demanded immediate economic sanctions, suspension of flights, and a halt to tourism and imports from Turkey and Azerbaijan, as is already being seen across the country.
Traders and travel operators from North East Bharat are also actively participating in this boycott campaign, cancelling bookings and suspending business ties with Turkey and Azerbaijan. This regional action is fully aligned with the national movement and sends a strong message that India’s unity and security are paramount.
