Mumbai. The official poster and website (www.cinetalkies.in) of Sanskar Bharati’s #CineTalkies2024 was launched today in the august presence of eminent film maker Boney Kapoor Ji. On this occasion, Pramod Bapat, Trustee, Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana, was also present.
The event started with welcoming of guests by Arun Shekhar, Vice President Sanskar Bharati, Kokan Prant and Anand K Singh, acclaimed producer and media personality of Bhojpuri and Hindi Cinema. Pramod Bapat ji congratulated Sanskar Bharati on the choice of the theme WOODS TO ROOTS, which talks about various regional cinema industries coming together to discover their swa, in the Bharatiya Roots.
He mentioned about the recent efforts of Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana to create an awareness among the youth and professional filmmakers about the relevance of Bharatiya Content in Films and Storytelling. Pramod ji mentioned that Bharatiya stories and storytelling have relevance since the age-old times. Storytelling is an art which we Indians have taught the world.
It is time for the Bharatiya film makers to turn back to their roots and discover new stories. Bharatiya film Industry has a great opportunity today to portray Bharat’s image as a Soft Power across the Globe. Pramod Bapat ji expressed a hope that efforts like Cine Talkies would be successful in fostering a healthy exchange of Ideas among the fraternity and society.
Boney Kapoor Ji started off by congratulating Sanskar Bharati on the step of creating a conference type programme to promote dialogue in the industries. He said that from his experience of 50 years in the industry he has always tried to follow Bharatiya ethos, in an indirect way. He always believed in portraying a strong female character in his films. When Bharatiya Cinema and Bharatiya stories are invariably linked to each other. He mentioned that we are today equipped to tell our stories in a much better way, blending the modern state of art techniques.
He related with the Slogan of Sanskar Bharati which depicted the Bharatiya perspective of the Cine world. He mentioned that today’s Bharatiya Cinema has started getting global recognition. This is proven by the fact that RRR, an originally Telugu film winning an Oscar.
He emphasized on the fact that new film makers need to learn from old film makers and discover stories rooted in Bharatiya Culture which the audience likes to see.
The event ended with the announcement of acclaimed Marathi actor and filmmaker Sunil Barve Ji as the Convenor of Cine Talkies 2024, and vote of thanks by Uday Shevade, Organising Secretary, Konkan Prant Sanskar Bharati.
