Thousands of swayamsevaks of RSS and Sangh-inspired organisations as well as Ram Bhakts embarked on a noble and divine mission on January 1, 2024 in connection with Ayodhya Pran Pratishtha. It is the distribution of consecrated Akshat from Ram Mandir, Ayodhya. The entire activities are carried out, in Kerala, under the auspices of Sree Ram Theertha Kshetra Samiti. The set target is the contact of 5,000,000 Hindu houses in the state. The total population in the state is approximately 3.51 crores.
This Akshat Yajna is implemented by 36,000 batches of workers of the Samiti. Every batch is consisting of workers of Sangh, BJP, VHP, BMS, ABVP, Kshetra Samrakshan Samiti, Bharatiya Vikas Parishad, Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad and many other Sangh-inspired organisations.
They were extremely happy about the devotional and enthusiastic responses they received from the houses they went. It is cutting across party lines. They got hearty welcome from the houses of hardcore CPM and Congress workers. In most of the houses, it was the women folk who accepted the akshat, the picture of Ram Mandir and the appeal of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Theertha Kshetra with utmost devotion. They made it a point to wash their hands before they received the consecrated articles.
Reputed singer K.S. Chitra, Padmashri and Padma Bhushan laureate, and popularly known as ‘Nightingale of South’, was one of the very important persons in the state who was all smiles to receive the akshat. Another significant personality was Mahesh Namboothiri, the chief priest of Sabarimala Sree Ayyappa temple. Ashwati Tirunal Gouri Lakshmibai of Tiruvitamcoor royal family also received the akshat with pride. Olympian P.T. Usha MP (RS) and her husband Sreenivasan received the akshat too.
R.V. Babu, state spokesman of Hindu Aikyavedi told that wherever he went as a member of the batch, not a single CPM man Congress worker objected when the workers went to their houses. Another batch leader said, a Christian housewife received the akshat after washing her hands.
