A Historic Cultural Initiative

New Delhi, April 16, 2025. Sanskrit is not merely a language; it is the soul of Bharatiya civilization – carrying within it the essence of our culture, traditions, and eternal wisdom. In an effort to reconnect the masses with this invaluable heritage and to revive Sanskrit as a living, spoken language, Sanskrit Bharati, in collaboration with the Sanskrit Academy Delhi, is launching a historic initiative: the Sanskrit Sambhashan Shivir Abhiyan, to be held across Delhi from April 23 to May 3, 2025.

This is not just a program – it is a cultural renaissance. Under this initiative, 1008 Sanskrit sambhashan shivirs will be conducted simultaneously across various parts of  Delhi, offering lakhs of people the opportunity to directly connect with the Sanskrit language.

All these camps will be free of cost and held at venues such as universities, colleges, academic institutions, and community spaces including RWAs, ashrams, dharamshalas, Arya Samaj temples, Sanatan Dharma temples, and gurukuls.

Each participant will receive 20 hours of conversational training – 2 hours daily for a total of 10 days. The camps are open to people of all ages, backgrounds, and educational qualifications. The objective is not just to teach a language, but also to impart Indian values, ethics, family structure, and societal principles – all through the medium of Sanskrit.

The campaign will conclude with a grand closing ceremony to be held at the auditorium of the University of Delhi. The Hon’ble Home Minister of Bharat, Amit Shah, will grace the event as the Chief Guest, along with several other distinguished dignitaries. This ceremony will not just be a conclusion but a celebration of Sanskrit and Bharatiya cultural awakening.

In a press conference, Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari, Minister Kapil Mishra, Sanskrit Bharati’s Akhil Bharatiya Sangathan Mantri Jayprakash Gautam, and Delhi Prant Adhyaksh Dr. Vageesh Bhatt extended their full support to the campaign and shared their thoughts.

Manoj Tiwari said, “So far, we have seen many ‘Learn English’ campaigns, but for the first time, we are witnessing such a grand ‘Learn Sanskrit’ movement. Sanskrit is a medium to connect with our culture – it is not difficult, rather it is ancient yet modern”.

Kapil Mishra added, “It is a privilege for the Delhi Government to be a part of this noble initiative by Sanskrit Bharati. I urge all citizens of Delhi to participate in this historic cultural movement. This is not just an opportunity to learn a language, but a chance to reconnect with our roots”.

Jayprakash Gautam, Akhil Bharatiya Sangathan Mantri of Sanskrit Bharati, remarked, “Sanskrit is simple and accessible to all. Sanskrit must become a people’s language. It is the mother of all Indian languages. It is also computer-compatible, and for Bharat’s global prestige, both Sanskrit and Indian culture must be restored”.

The Sanskrit Sambhashan Shivir Abhiyan is a mass awakening movement aimed at reconnecting people with the soul of Bharat by bringing Sanskrit back to daily life. To register miss call at 9220915556.
