Bengaluru. In the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswami Ji of Sri Suttur Math, Mysuru, Jayadeva Memorial Rashtrotthana Hospital & Research Centre was inaugurated here in Rajarajeshwari Nagar.
Founder of Infosys Foundation and Chairman of Murthy Foundation Sudha Murthy Ji, Founder and Chairman of Narayana Health Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty Ji, RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale Ji graced the ceremony.
Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty Ji speaking on the occasion said that India has been successful in making healthcare accessible and available to the lower income groups, will be able to solve the problem of making healthcare affordable to the lower income group people and BPL card holders through the very commendable Ayushman Bharat scheme. He added that he is very confident that India will be successful in making healthcare affordable to the middle- income groups too by bringing about a low premium insurance scheme in the next 5 to 6 years.
Sudha Murthy Ji requested all women to sacrifice buying a saree once a year. She added that this Ugadhi, women should give up on purchasing a saree and contribute the amount or any small amount that they are comfortable with for the healthcare of women in this hospital.
Dattatreya Hosabale Ji describing the service filled life of Maicha Jayadev Ji, in whose memory this Hospital has been built, said that Jayadev Ji was an Institution Builder and the beloved brother to many Karyakartas. Reminiscing about the time that he spent with Jayadev Ji in Bangalore Prison when they had been arrested during the Emergency, he said that even in the prison Jayadev Ji worked towards keeping the morale of the prisoners high and inspired. He said that Hospitals are for “Getting on with life and getting back to life”. He advised those present to focus on preventive healthcare by joining Rashtrotthana Fitness Centre and Rashtrotthana Yoga Centres and added that he would not wish that more and more patients get admitted in the Hospital but that they contribute for the healthcare of those who get admitted.
Param Pujya Swamiji of Suttur Muth, Sri Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Swami Ji said that this novel idea of Rashtrotthana Parishat of making high quality and human healthcare available at affordable prices to the common man is highly commendable and Rashtrotthana Parishat is praise worthy for such a novel idea. He too spoke about the inspiring life led by Jayadev Ji and remembered a meeting held at Mysore many years ago when Jayadev Ji spoke for over an hour and there was palpable pin drop silence throughout the one house speech. He also mentioned that had Jayadev Ji been alive he would not have agreed to the first line of the Hospital which has his name but it is the need of the hour as his life will inspire many generations to lead a life of service to the society and the nation.
