Khonsa (Arunachal Pradesh). Seva Bhararti in collaboration with Jnana Prabodhini, Pune conducted science workshops in the middle schools at Khonsa and Dayun from 3rd November to 8th November, 2014. The aim of ‘Gyan Setu’ is to spread the “joy” of education among children, to provide “exposure” towards the world of science, technology etc. and to provide “inspiration” to volunteers and children to develop proactive attitude towards solving problems before the society.
The science workshops were conducted in 8 schools at Khonsa in which above 500 students participated with bubbling enthusiasm. The students enjoyed the hands-on-activities which they miss in their schools because of lack of facilities. The 6 resource persons from Pune Maharashtra tried to clear the concepts of physics terms through simple science activities like balloon car, sprinkler, vacuum cleaner, capacity measurement of lungs etc. The second group covered 8 schools in Dayun also.
