Kozhikode: Senior RSS Pracharak Shri. K. Perachen, popularly known as Perachettan (88) passed away yesterday in Kozhikode. He breathe his last at around 6 PM at Madhava Kripa, RSS Vibhag Karyalay. He had been bed ridden for the past few months with ill health due to old age.
He is one of the first pracharaks from Kerala who started his social service as a Sangh Pracharak in the early 1950s. He is a native of Mankav,Kozhikode. Though he started out as a socialist after primary education, he got attracted to Sangh work and became a Swayamsevak. He resigned his job at Kerala textiles to become a pracharak. He had served many parts of Kerala including Vayanad, Pattambi, Perumbavoor,Cherthala, Payyannur etc.
During the emergency period, he got arrested from the RSS Karyalay at Nadakkavu, Kozhikode and was imprisoned. After that his service was centered in Kozhikode. After public viewing at RSS Karyalay, his body will be cremated at Mankav cemetery at around 12 noon.
