Pathanamthitta, Kerala (VSK). Thirty-five families are getting places to live and sleep under the roof in Seetarama Parvam. K.K. Prasad alias Thampi of Athira, Vadasserikkara, Pathanamthitta district, donated the land he bought, by shedding the hard-earned money, towards “Own A Home”, a project of Sangh-inspired Sevabharati. Sevabharati’s Onam gifts go to 35 landless families. Each family gets 5 cents land each. The project is situated near Moonnukallu, Seethathodu Panchayat near Seetarama Parvam. Thirty-five most deserving families were selected from 425 applicants. They got title deeds along with the plots.
Former Mizoram Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan told, while addressing the gathering in connection with handing over of the documents to the selected 35 families, that the poor landless people still await the kind gestures of the men of generosity despite the loud and tall claims of the CPM-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) regime that Kerala is numero-uno. Kummanam told that K.K. Prasad is a role model for those who are ready to help the fellow men trapped in acute hardships.
Bhoodana ceremony was organised at Seethathodu. Viswa Sevabharati Seethathodu unit president K. Sajikumar presided the event. Sevabharati state vice president Dr. E.P. Krishnan Namboothiri inaugurated the function. K.K. Prasad was honoured.
