New Delhi. Hundreds of Karyakartas of Sewa Bharati J&K are working day and night to rescue thousands of people trapped in the flood hit state.
In a press release, Mr. S. P. Tonk, President of Rashtriya Sewa Bharati, appealed They are arranging the last rites of the dead, the temporary shelter for the homeless, distributing blankets & warm clothes, arranging langars, milk for children,medical aid etc, there are much bigger task of assessing the loss of human lives, cattles, houses etc.
Natural Calamities may strike anybody, anytime in any region.The flood due to continuous raining for past few days in Jammu & Kashmir has caused thousands of people are trapped, hundreds of houses have been swept away and roads are blocked due to landslides, Mr. Tonk said.
He appealed to all the citizens of this country, NGOs, other philanthropist organizations, corporates to rise to the occasion and help needy brethren in Jammu & Kashmir by donating generously by way of Cash, material etc.
According to the release, the immediate requirements for the next two days are 1000 Blankets for Jammu, 2000 for Kashmir, Ration material, Milk packets, Biscuit packets, new clothes (warm) for men, women & children. There is also required 1000 Tarpaulin (500 for Jammu and 500 for Kashmir).
Since roads are blocked in these regions, the donors of material are requested to send by air to Jammu/ Sri Nagar as the case may be. Sewa Bharati control rooms are setup at Sewa Bharti, Jammu & Kashmir, Ved Mandir Complex, Ambphalla, Jammu 180001.
