Kerala (VSK). Popular Front of India terrorist T.S. Zainudheen, imprisoned in High Security Prison in Central Prison, Viyyur, Thrissur, is in further controversy in the light of the attempt to smuggle a sim card to the jail. His wife Nadira, son Mohammed Yasin and father Mohammed Nasir tried to give him a sim card hiding in Quran text. Jail authorities found it while checking the Quran text before handing over to the prisoner. Jail Superintendent lodged a complaint with the local police. Police has registered FIR and filed a case. Now, it is reported that police tries to find out whose name it belongs to. Then the aforementioned three people are likely to be taken into custody. If happens it will be a non-bailable offence.

Zainudheen was arrested from Peruvanthanam, Idukki district, in connection with the raids at Popular Front Offices in the wake of the ban clamped on the organization by the Union Government.

The incident once again proves that terrorism uses religion as the walker and stick. Once, a crime gets religious support it gets political patronage from both Congress-led Opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) and ruling CPM-led Left Democratic Front (LDF). In fact, both Fronts are in cut throat competition to appease the Muslim vote bank.
