Ernakulam. NIA Special Court, Ernakulam (0n 01.08.2022,) convicted three persons for burning a bus of Government of Tamil Nadu, which was plying between Ernakulum and Salem.
The case was initially registered at Kalamassery Police Station, District Ernakulum, and was taken over for investigation by NIA on 22.01.2010. After thorough investigations, charge-sheet was filed by NIA on 17.12.2010 against 13 accused persons.
According to NIA statement sentences awarded to the three convicted accused are as below….
(i) Nazeer Thadiyantavidatha @ Ummer Haji @ Haji, s/o Abdul Majeed, Thayyil, Kannur, Kerala has been sentenced to 07 Years of Rigorous Imprisonment and fine of Rs. 235000/- for the offences under section 120B, 121A, 323, 364, 435, 506(ii) of IPC section 4 of PDPP Act besides sections 16(1)(b) and18 of UA (P) Act.
(ii) Sabir Buhari, s/o Buhari, Puthukkadan Veedu, Perumbavoor, Kunnathunadu, Ernakulam, Kerala has been sentenced to 07 Years of Rigorous Imprisonment and fine of Rs. 235000/- for the offences under section 120B, 121A, 323, 364, 435, 506(ii) of IPC section 4 of PDPP Act besides sections 16(1)(b) and18 of UA (P) Act.
(iii) Thajudin, s/o Abdul Rasak, North Paravoor, Makkanai Bhagam, Kizhakkethoppil Veedu, Chittatukara, Ernakulam, has been sentenced to 06 Years of RI and fine of Rs. 160000/- for the offence under section 120B, 121A, 323, 364 of IPC, 435, 506(ii) of IPC, section 4 of PDPP Act besides sections 16(1)(b) and 18 of UA (P) Act.
Trials against other 8 accused persons, including one absconding accused, are in progress.
