Chandigarh. The Punjab police busts two terror modules. Punjab Police have foiled a major conspiracy to disturb the peace of the state by busting two foreign-based, ISI-backed terror modules and arresting 13 operatives with a cache of arms and ammunition.
As per media reports, Punjab Police Chief Gaurav Yadav stated that these two modules were operated by France- and Greece-based Babbar Khalsa International operatives, who were working in close coordination with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence.
Police have recovered two rocket-propelled grenade launchers, two improvised explosive devices containing two kilograms of RDX with remote controls, two hand grenades, five pistols (Beretta and Glock), 44 live cartridges, wireless sets, and three vehicles from their possession. He said that with these arrests and recoveries, the police have foiled an ISI-masterminded conspiracy to spread terror and disturb peace.
The first terror module was operated by France-based Satnam Singh alias Satta and the second by Greece-based Jaswinder alias Mannu Agwan.
This is a major blow to transnational terror networks targeting peace and stability in Punjab.
The arrested have been identified as Jatinder alias Honey, Jagjit alias Jagga, both residents of Kapurthala, Harpreet and Jagroop, both from Hoshiarpur, said the DGP, adding their terror module was operated Satta.
A case has been registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosives Act in Amritsar.
About the second terror module, he said nine operatives have been arrested. The case has been registered under the UAPA and the Explosives Act in Batala.
