Mallapuram Bhishmachary, a veteran RSS pracharak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), passed away on the night of September 12, 2024. He was 73. Bhishmachary was traveling to Bhagyanagar from Nagpur at the time of his passing. The parthiva shariram will be brought to Bhagyanagar. Tomorrow morning, Sept 14th, it will be donated.
Born on May 31, 1951, Bhishmachary began his lifelong association with the RSS as a young swayamsevak at the Khairatabad Shivaji Shakha in Bhagyanagar. After completing his studies, he became a full-time pracharak in 1970. He is the second of five siblings, with three brothers and one sister.
He started as Nagar Pracharak in Sangareddy, where he began his journey. He later served as Vibhag Pracharak and eventually moved to Tamil Nadu. In Chennai, he served as Mahanagar Pracharak. Later, he moved to Salem, where he took up the role of Vibhag Pracharak, continuing his service.
During the 1975-77 Emergency, he worked as an underground karyakarta. He later worked during the turbulent times in Punjab in the mid-1980s, serving as a Sharirik Pramukh.
Bhishmachary’s service extended far beyond the borders of Bharat. As a yoga teacher, he worked with the Hindu diaspora in countries like Fiji, Australia, and New Zealand. One of his most notable contributions was organizing a massive rally in Fiji during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, which saw over 15,000 participants come together in support of the Ayodhya Mandir’s construction.
Despite facing health challenges in recent years, including a heart attack and reduced mobility post-COVID, he remained committed to his work. He believed deeply in Ayurveda and Indian medical systems. He experimented with a 40-day diet of desi cow milk as part of his healing process.
He was a pracharak from Bhagyanagar and served in Vishwa Vibhag esp in Fiji, Australia for many decades. Bhishmachary ji made a positive impact in the lives of numerous karyakartas through his affectionate counsel.
