New Delhi. The Central government will implement health IDs for children allowing parents to track their children’s health records from birth.
According to Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) scheme, health ID card will be issued to new-borns and children below 18 years of age. All health details right from the child’s birth can be uploaded in it.
The doctor can provide correct treatment by looking through these details. It can be linked with parent’s health ID number and the child can use the account on his own only after the age of 18. Health ID card will be issued to those who do not have Aadhar card and also to new-born babies.
Parents can create a health account for child through the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission website, ABDM affiliated hospitals, Aarogya Sethu app, health centres, government health schemes and Paytm. Currently, ABHA card is only available to those over 18 years of age.
