New Delhi. Bharat has rejected the comments made by Canadian PM Justin Trudeau on killing of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar saying that the remarks once again illustrate the political space given to separatism, extremism and violence in Canada.

Briefing media in New Delhi, MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, this not only impacts Bharat-Canada relations but also encourages a climate of violence and criminality in Canada to the detriment of its citizens.

Trudeau addressed a Khalsa Day event in Toronto on Sunday that was attended by some pro-Khalistani people.

Bharat on Monday had summoned the Canadian deputy high commissioner and lodged a strong protest with him over the raising of pro-Khalistan slogans at the event in presence of Trudeau and several other leaders.

In the case of Bharatiya nationals who were duped with job offers in Myanmar, Randhir Jaiswal said, three Bharatiyas had contacted for repatriation and one has already been brought back. The Ministry is in touch with the two other persons. The Embassy there is working as to how they can get them released as early as possible. He further reminded of the notice to job-seekers that cautioned them to be careful, while applying for job in Myanmar.
