New Delhi. The Vishva Hindu Parishad has made some necessary changes in the formats and templates of the Shri Ram Mahotsav celebrations scheduled across the country from the coming Varsh-Pratipada (March 25) to Hanuman Jayanti (April 08), in view of the pandemic of novel Corona virus (COVID-19). VHP’s Central Secretary General Milind Parande said that in view of the rising corona virus infection cases in the country and the efforts being made globally to deal with this pandemic, we have called upon the Hindu society that during the pan-India Shri Ram Mahotsav (festival) they should not take out big processions or chariot parades and trips or hold any such mass events that could transmit and circulate the fatal COVID-19.

He said that all the Ram devotees, with all cleanliness and hygiene and observance of all the health care instructions given by the local health authorities, should gather in their respective houses or nearby temples and chant the 13-letter Vijay Maha-Mantra, i.e., “Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram” and inspire others to do so. The Karyakartas should protect the health of the society along with their own. Apart from this, saffron flags should be hoisted atop all Hindu houses and stickers of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi affixed outside the houses.

The VHP Secretary General also said that the construction of the temple on the birthplace of Bhagwan Shri Rama is a reclamation and restoration of India’s self-respect, refinement, grace and dignity. We must also re-member the lakhs of Hindu brethren who sacrificed their lives and made continuous efforts for the liberation of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi during the last five centuries.

Welcome Prime Minister’s call

Saluting the medical fraternity and all its partners for fighting the pandemic day and night on war-footing all over the country, He also said that what the Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address to the nation, we welcome it and at the same time, we also call upon all the people to follow the life-saving advice literally. Whether it is self-imposed Janata curfew (people’s curfew) or social distancing, the matter of senior citizens and children not getting out of house, or to make a collective clapping/applause for five minutes at 5 pm on 22nd March for those fighting the COVID-19, let us all along with our families and society, participate in it and spread awareness about the global crisis.
