Raksha Bandhan Celebrations

Spread the love

On August 30, 2023, West Whiteland Township employees and the West Whiteland Township Police, met with members of the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA (HSS) to celebrate the traditional Hindu Festival known as Rakṣhā Bandhan.

While this is a holiday reaffirming the relationship between sisters and brothers, since 2004, HSS has celebrated this holiday as “Universal Oneness Day”, broadening its scope from the family to the community with the simple idea that we should all love and protect each other.

They also presented a book “Darshana: A glimpse into Hindu Civilization”. They will soon be meeting us again for the Sewa Diwali (a give back to society initiative since 2018) and other community activities. Looking forward to the partnership.

After the ceremony, HSS members and the participants talked together while enjoying traditional Indian food. On behalf of West Whiteland Township and the West Whiteland Township Police Department, we would like to thank everyone for taking time out of their day to show support and spread such a positive message.
