ABVP to release helpline numbers for the NEET-JEE aspirants and final year students

New Delhi. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad welcomes the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court regarding final year examinations and believes it to be visionary and in the best interest of students. ABVP’s principal stand has always been in favour of evaluation of final year students with adequate precautions to safeguard their rights.

ABVP believes that accompanying issues like commute, logistics, sanitation and so on merit special attention by the authorities. Since public transportation is unavailable at many places due to the ongoing lockdown, students without any personal vehicle may have to face difficulties. Commute may be a major problem for students living in far off regions. In such cases, it becomes incumbent on the governments to make proper arrangements for the safe travel of the examinees to and from their specific examination centres. Special operating procedures with respect to the physical distancing norms must be strictly adhered to at all times at every examination centre, particularly before the commencement and after the conclusion of the exams. Special provisions for students suffering from any medical ailment or living in containment zones are required to preclude any adverse impact on their health as well as ensuring their timely participation in the exams.

Nidhi Tripathi, National General Secretary, ABVP, said, “Evaluation is an extremely important step in the learning-cycle. The Supreme Court’s decision upholding the UGC’s evaluation-specific guidelines for the final-year students, albeit with minor modifications, is prudent and in their best interest. In this hour, the students need support of the teachers and the society at large. ABVP, being a sincere representative of students, too, will release helpline numbers to assist the NEET-JEE aspirants as well as the final-year students.”
