Prayagraj/New Delhi. In the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi case, Allahabad High Court approved the survey of the Shahi Idgah complex in Mathura. The court accepted the petition of the Hindu side and approved the court commission survey of the Shahi Idgah complex.
Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain said, “The court has allowed our demand that an advocate commissioner must be appointed. Who will be the advocate commissioner, what will the modalities be, and whether it will be a three-member committee? All these things will be decided on December 18”.
“We demanded that in the Shahi Idgah complex, there are lots of signs and symbols, and to know the actual factual position, an actual advocate commissioner is required. The court has allowed our application,” he added.
It may be noted that in the application, moved in the original suit pending before the HC, it was stated that Bhagwan Shri Krishna’s birthplace lies beneath the mosque and that there are many signs which establish that the Mosque is a Hindu temple hence, the appointment of a commission was essential.
The application had further submitted that there exists a lotus-shaped pillar which is a classic characteristic of Hindu temples and an image of Sheshnaag, one of the Hindu deities who protected Lord Krishna on the night of his birth, is also present there. The application also added that at the base of the pillar of the Mosque, Hindu religious symbols and engravings are also visible.
So far, several cases have been filed in Mathura Court in the cases of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Shahi Idgah complex. Ranjana Agnihotri, a resident of Lucknow, had filed a suit demanding the ownership of 13.37 acres of land owned by Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi.
In her legal suit, Agnihotri demanded the removal of the Shahi Idgah mosque built in Krishna Janmabhoomi.
The suit filed in the Mathura court sought the removal of a mosque said to have been built in 1669-70 on the orders of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in the 13.37-acre premises of Katra Keshav Dev temple, near the birthplace of Bhagwan Shri Krishna.
