Chennai. In yet another shocking incident, another girl studying in class 12 committed suicide in Tamil Nadu’s Cuddalore. The third such death in the state in the last two weeks.
The girl’s mother claimed that her daughter was stressed for several days.
However, police have registered a case of suspicious death and further probe is underway. Cuddalore SP S Sakthi Ganesan told, “She committed suicide due to domestic issues at her home.”
As per reports, the girl allegedly committed suicide at her residence due to domestic issues. Police intervened when the parents of the deceased were conducting her final rites and her body was sent for postmortem.
However, the reason behind the alleged suicide is still unclear and cops are trying to find out why the girl took such an extreme step.
On July 13 a class 12 student in Kallakurichi jumped to death from the third floor of the hostel of a private school. The suicide of the girl sparked violence in Kallakurichi with hundreds of protesters vandalizing the school building, torching school buses, burning a police vehicle, and destroying and burning down several two-wheelers on July 17.
In a similar incident, a Class 12 student of Tiruvallur district hanged herself to death in her hostel room on Monday (July 25). The family and relatives of the girl protested in front of the school and were not ready to take the body. They finally relented after police and district administration put pressure.
