Chennai. Rafique, terror suspect, an active member of banned outfit Al-Ummah was arrested in Chennai by City Police in a recent robbery case.
Rafique involved in the 2014 bomb blast at MGR Chennai Central railway station in which a woman Swati, software engineer was killed. He had links to fundamentalists in Bengal’s Malda district. Rafique had visited Bangladesh and Pakistan to import the fake currency notes and was arrested for smuggling fake currency at Kodungaiyur a decade earlier, said Police Officer.
National Investigation Agency (NIA) was looking for him in relation to the 2014 blast case.
