Pakistan was met with a grave response by Bharat when it raked Kashmir at the United Nations on September 22. Bharat asked Pakistan to put its own house in order before commenting on the “internal matter” of Bharat. First Secretary of Bharat at the United Nations, Petal Gahlot, slammed the Pakistan Prime Minister for raking Kashmir while asking the nation to vacate the occupied areas of Union Territory and take action against terrorism.

“As a country with one of the world’s worst human rights records, particularly when it comes to minority and women’s rights, Pakistan would do well to put its own house in order before venturing to point a finger at the world’s largest democracy”, she said.

The official then highlighted to the members the recent attacks on Christian communities in Pakistan’s Jaranwala where dozens of churches were set ablaze and Christian houses were vandalised in mob violence as a mob of miscreants attacked them claiming that some members of the community engaged in blasphemy.

Bharatiya diplomat reiterated that union territories of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh are integral parts of Bharat and Pakistan has no “locus standi” to make statements regarding Bharat’s domestic matters.

Earlier Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar raised the Kashmir issue in his speech. Kakar made these remarks during an address at the 78th session of the UNGA in New York.
