Meerut. The Bhumi poojan was held at the Jagriti Vihar Extension where “Rashtrodaya” programme is scheduled to be held on February 25, 2018. RSS sarkaryavah Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi was present at the prayers where he apprised the swayamsevaks of the purpose and various aspects of the Rashtrodaya pogramme.

At the place of prayer a 183-feet long tricolour flag was brought, along with 54-feet long Bhagwa Dhwaj from Saharanpur, a Mashaal from Ghaziabad, a Sudarshan Chakra from Dhampur , a knife from Rampur, a brass urn from Moradabad, water from 19 wells in Sambhal, soil from all religious places and water of holy rivers was brought to the place. The Bhoomi pujan concluded with the chanting of Vedic mantras in the presence of Swami Vivekananda Saraswati, chancellor of the Gurukul Prabhat Ashram.

In his address, Bhaiyyaji Joshi said the RSS had been engaged in service of the nation for the last nine decades. He said our aim was to arouse the Hindu shakti which could stand against injustice. The RSS wanted to create a society in which social changes could be brought about and we could provide right leadership to the world. This task could not be performed by any government, or the Constitution or any law. If we look at the history we would realize that such changes had been brought about by the sages and saints and social workers. The government only becomes a facilitator, but the change happens from within the society.

He said the biggest hindrance in the process is the division of society on the basis of caste and creed, which we want to end. The RSS believes that identity of a Hindu is not by his caste, by in the fact that he is a proud Hindu. He condemned the practice of female infanticide and called upon the society to root it out.

He said the idea of “Swachh Bharat” could only be materialized when the society itself would take over the initiative.

He said killing of cows was not just against any particular religion, but it was a question attached to the culture of the land. The RSS, he said, was firmly against cow killing and it was determined to build a fearless Hindu society.

Kshetra Sanghchalak Dr. Darshan Lal Arora ji, all-India Pracharak pramukh Suresh ji, Kshetra Karyavah Manvir Singh ji also participated in the function.
