New Delhi. ED has conducted search operations on November 02 at 13 locations in Delhi NCR, Kolkata and Uttar Pradesh as part of investigation under Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 [PMLA] against Raaj Kumar Anand, Cabinet Minister, Government of Delhi and other connected persons/ entities.
ED initiated investigation on the basis of the Prosecution Complaint filed by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence against Raaj Kumar Anand and other connected persons/entities for commission of offence under various sections of the Customs Act, 1962. As per the said complaint, Raaj Kumar Anand did Hawala Payments to China and evaded customs duty amounting to about Rs. 7 Crore on various imports. The Hon’ble Court has taken cognizance of the offence vide order dated 11.08.2023.
During the search operations, evidences relating unaccounted business investments and hawala payments sent to China during 2023 were recovered from key employees of Raaj Kumar Anand. Cash of Rs. 74 Lakh and various incriminating documents/digital records were recovered and seized.
