Bengaluru/Mumbai/New Delhi. A major crackdown on the notorious IS group has resulted in the arrest of 15 ISIS Terrorists by NIA on Saturday. The raids, which were conducted in over 44 locations across Maharashtra and Karnataka, were a joint effort by multiple agency teams.
According to NIA release, the raids were carried out in Padgha-Borivali, Thane, Mira Road, and Pune in Maharashtra, as well as Bengaluru in Karnataka, in the early hours of the morning. The 15 accused ISIS terrorists were apprehended for their involvement in promoting terror and carrying out terror-related activities on behalf of the banned organization.
During the raids, a significant amount of unaccounted cash, firearms, sharp weapons, incriminating documents, smartphones, and other digital devices were seized. These efforts are part of the NIA’s ongoing mission to disrupt and thwart the violent plans of the Islamic State (IS) and prevent innocent lives from being taken.
The arrested individuals were operating under the direction of their foreign handlers and were actively engaged in various terrorist activities, including the creation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Their sole purpose was to further the destructive agenda of the ISIS, as confirmed by NIA’s investigations.

According to the latest findings from the NIA, it has come to light that the suspects, who are all believed to be members of the IS Maharashtra unit, were operating from the areas of Padgha-Borivali. It has been revealed that this is where they had plotted their nefarious scheme to spread fear and chaos throughout the nation.
The individuals in question were driven by extremist ideologies such as violent Jihad, Khilafat, and IS. Their ultimate goal was to disrupt the peace and harmony of our country and wage a war against Bharat.
The preliminary investigations have uncovered that the arrested suspects had declared the village of Padgha in rural Thane as a ‘liberated zone’ and ‘Al Sham’. It appears that they were actively persuading young, impressionable Muslim individuals to relocate to Padgha in order to strengthen their base there.
In addition, Saqib Nachan, the ringleader and head of the IS module, was responsible for administering the ‘bayath’ (oath of allegiance to the Khalifa of ISIS) to new members joining the banned organization.
The Islamic State, also known as IS or ISIS, is a global terror organization that goes by various names such as Daish, ISKP, and ISIS-K. This group has been actively spreading its network of terror in Bharat by establishing localized modules and cells in different states across the country.
NIA has been working tirelessly to disrupt the plans of this organization by conducting extensive raids and apprehending numerous terror suspects involved in their anti-Bharat activities.
