Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Police have filed a case against four media workers who covered the Mahila Morcha’s protest outside the Director General of Police (DGP)’s residence. This comes on the heels of a similar case registered against a journalist for reporting an incident involving shoe-trowing at the Nava Kerala Bus. Visual media worker Vineetha Viji is now facing charges of conspiracy in connection with the incident.

Reacting to the situation, BJP State President K Surendran condemned the legal actions, labelling them as a clear example of fascism. He drew attention to what he referred to as the “King’s order,” likening it to a directive preventing locals from witnessing protests against the ruling authorities. Surendran questioned whether the Chief Minister would assert that the case against the media worker reflects the concerns of the ‘new Kerala’. K. Surendran reminded that Pinarayi Vijayan should not forget that Kerala is in Bharat.
