- Deliberately avoiding to say “Jai Hind”
- Selective action against the school management/teacher accused of sexual abuse on students
These are some of the controversies the new DMK Govt indulged in, were seen as a diversionary tactics of the govt to escape the blame of not implementing poll promises and failure to effectively tackle the second wave of Covid-19.
But the developments in the last couple of days show clearly that the govt is bent upon its secessionist and anti-Hindu agenda.
The TN Govt has, two days back, appointed four new members to the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC), vacant for some time. One of them is Fr. A. Raj Mariasoosai, known Maoist sympathizer and associate of Stan Swamy one of the urban Naxals accused in Bhima Koregaon case. Presently he is the Rector of Janodaya Salesian College in Yercaud, a famous resort in TN.
The Stalin led Govt in TN appointed Dindukal I. Leoni, a teacher and DMK party functionary as the Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Text Book and Education Services Corporation (TNTBSESC). This state PSU is responsible for printing and distribution of Text Books from Standard 1 to 12. He has already announced that he would replace the word “Center Government” with “Ondriya Arasu” in all the school books. He has also announced the biography of former TN Chief minister and DMK President M. Karunanidhi will be included in the curriculum. Incidentally, TNTBESC is responsible only for printing and distribution of school books, not for their contents.
The Coimbatore Municipal Corporation has demolished seven temples on the boundary of a lake in the city citing it as the drive to reclaim the encroachment of lake. Talks were going on for the allotment of alternate sites for these temples but the Corporation authorities arbitrarily demolished them.
DMK’s social media group has repeated its claim that though the demand for separate Dravida Nadu was dropped in 1963, the reasons for such demand still exist. These developments again raise the question: Is the party on a charted course of action? Does DMK think the Union Govt is weak?
