Bengaluru. Senior RSS Pracharak Na Krishnappa (83 years) passed away today morning at 10.55 am at Keshavakripa, RSS State Headquarters in Bengaluru. Na Krishnappa was serving as RSS Pracharak for 61 years since 1954. He was suffering from age-old illness since few months.
Born in Mysuru on Krishna Janmashtami day in 1932 as the second son of Narasimhayya and Savitramma, Na Krishnappa had completed his Degree in Sanskrit BA Honors. He became RSS Swayamsevak during his college days. In 1954 Na Krishnappa ji became RSS Pracharak. He deputed as Taluk Pracharak at Chamarajanagar. In 1955-56 Na Krishnappa ji became Shivamogga Jila Pracharak. In 1959 Na Krishnappaji became Mangaluru Jila Pracharak for an year. From 1960 to 1962, Na Krishnappa ji became Bengaluru Rural Jila Pracharak. In 1962 Na Krishnappa ji became Tumakuru Vibhag Pracharak. In 1966 Na Krishnappa ji served as Mangaluru Vibhag Pracharak. The then Mangaluru Vibhag was so much extended even up to Bellary.
In 1975 Na Krishnappa ji lead anti-emergency movement in Mangaluru Vibhag, which was one of the most strongest protest in India, as recorded by writers on anti-emergency movement. Krishnappa ji was jailed in Mangaluru Jail. In 1978 Na Krishnappa ji became Prant Bouddhik Pramukh. In 1980 Na Krishnappa ji became Prant Pracharak for Karnataka. In 1989 Na Krishnappa ji became Kshetreeya Pracharak for Karnataka, Kerala and Tamilnadu. His kendra was Bengaluru. In 2004 Na Krishnappa ji became Sadasya of Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarini of RSS, till 2014. He was given the responsibility of Parivar Prabodhan, a concept initiated by himself, educating countrymen about values within Hindu Families.
Since March 2014, his health deteriorated, and was under treatment for few months. Na Krishnappa ji is known for his concept of Kutumb Prabodhan or also called Parivar Prabodhan, educating individuals about values within Hindu Families. Na Krishnappa ji was the guiding force for several new concepts of Sangh initiatives in Karnataka. ‘Maneye Mangalya’, a book on values of Hindu Families, also guided the genesis and growth for institutes like Veda Vijnan Gurukulam, Prabodhini Gurukulam, Maitreyi Gurukulam, Kannada monthly magazine like Aseema etc. He was a voracious reader of books, magaizines and newspapers. He was most updated on current affairs. Had great wisdom on Vedas, epics like Ramayana and other related philosophies. Na Krishnappa childhood friend of great Kannada scholar Dr. SL Bhairappa. It is said by few analysts that, in his first novel ‘Dharmashree‘, Dr SL Bhairappa mentioned a character by name Shankara. The narration of the character Shankara in his novel was based his friend, RSS Pracharak Na Krishnappa. Na Krishnappa ji had groomed thousands of Karyakartas of RSS in South Indian states like Kerala, Karnataka and Tamilnadu.
The antim-darshan is will begin from 12.30 noon till 4.00 pm at Keshavakripa. His body will be donated to KIMS Medical College. RSS Sarsanghachalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, Sarkaryavah Suresh Bhayya ji Joshi, Sah-sarkaryavahs Dattatreya Hosabale, V Bhagaiah, Dr. Krishan Gopal, Suresh Soni, senior RSS functionaries including MG Vaidya, Sitaram Kedilaya, Dr. Manmohan Vaidya, Kshetreeya Sanghachalak V Nagaraj and several others expressed their condolences on the demise of Na Krishnappa.
