Shri Amarnath Yatra – More Than 28,000 Pilgrims Visit Holy Cave Shrine

More than 15,000 pilgrims visited the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath Ji yesterday. With this, the total number of devotees having darshan of the Baba Amarnath has reached to 28,000 on the second day of the annual pilgrimage.

Meanwhile, 4th batch of 6461 pilgrims left Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp in Jammu to perform pilgrimage of Barfani Baba. The pilgrims left the base camp in a cavalcade of 265 vehicles early this morning. These included 4831 Men, 1223 Women, 14 Children, 332 Sadhus & 61 Sadhvies, of these 2321 pilgrims left for Baltal at 4:10 AM and 4,140 for Pahalgam base camp started their journey an hour later.

The annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji in South Kashmir Himalayas is going on smoothly with each passing day with religious fervour and gaiety. The 52-day long Amarnath Ji Yatra will conclude on 19th August this year on the auspicious occasion of Shravan Poornima which also coincides with the festival of Raksha Bandhan.

“As many as 28,534 pilgrims visited the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath Ji to have darshan of the naturally formed ice lingam since the commencement of the pilgrimage”.

Stringent security arrangements have been put in place for the smooth conduct of the Yatra. Thousands of security personnel from the police, Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police and other paramilitary forces have been deployed along the route. Aerial surveillance is also being carried out.

As per the reports, there is a huge rush of pilgrims at twin base camps of Nunwan and Baltal. Thousands of yatris have reached the two base camps from different parts of the country to embark upon the holy yatra of Shri Amarnath Ji.
