Six accused remanded to police custody to gather more evidence from Pookode Veterinary University campus

Six main accused in the death case of Siddharth, a second-year Veterinary student found dead at the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University hostel in Pookode, Wayanad, have been remanded to police custody. Sinjo Johnson, Ameer Akbarali, Soud Risal, Adhithyan, Kashinathan RS, and Danish were remanded.

The accused have been remanded to gather more evidence related to Siddharth’s death and to clarify the weapons used in the assault. The investigation team found that Sinjo Johnson and Kashinathan were the ones who brutally beat Siddharth.

The police also reported that the investigation team will seek court approval to conduct a forensic examination of the mobile phone used by the accused.

Meanwhile, Pookode Veterinary College, which was closed after Siddharth’s death, resumed classes. College authorities stated that a decision has been made regarding the installation of surveillance cameras to enhance security on campus.
