Bhagyanagar. After the death of Christian priest Stan Swamy, accused of inciting violence in Bhima Koregaon and having links with Maoists, communists created such propaganda in social media that for a moment it appeared that the person killed was not urban Maoist Stan Swamy but some ‘Saint’ or ‘Swami’.
The propaganda of the death of Urban Naxal Maoist Stan Swamy was so much publicized in social media that it was talked about at the international level as well, if it is said that this ‘fake’ issue was publicized in social media to malign India’s image So it won’t be wrong.
When the issue became a topic of discussion at the international level, there were some reactions in which India was criticized, after this criticism the communist lobby was jumping on social media as if their ‘toolkit’ had done its job.
Although the Indian Ministry of External Affairs rejected these criticisms, clearly stating that, “The authorities concerned take steps against the violation of law and do not withhold legal rights, it was the undertrial prisoner who died.”
The Ministry of External Affairs also said that, “India is determined to protect the human rights of all its citizens. The country’s democratic policy is in line with the independent judiciary and national and several state-level human rights commissions. Swamy’s health and treatment was closely watched by the courts. And he died due to ill health.”
Significantly, the Christian priest was arrested in October 2020 from Ranchi by the NIA under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and was kept in the Taloja Central Jail in Navi Mumbai. During the last hearing, when the report of the government hospital said that Stan Swamy does not need to be kept in any hospital. But, then Stan Swamy said that he should be admitted to a private hospital, otherwise he would prefer to die in jail.
After this, the court had ordered urban Maoist Stan Swamy to be admitted to a private hospital. He was then admitted to a private hospital owned by the church where he died on July 5, a day before the crucial hearing on July 6.
