New Delhi. On (06.1.2021), NIA arrested absconding accused Shihabudeen@ Sirajudeen@ Khalid, aged 39 years, resident of Chennai, Tamil Nadu in SSI Wilson Murder Case, following his arrival at Chennai International Airport from Qatar for his involvement in killing of Wilson, Special Sub Inspector.
The case pertains to the killing Wilson, Special Sub-Inspector of Tamil Nadu Police on 8th January, 2020, by Jihadi terrorists namely Abdul Shameem and Thowfeek, while the officer was performing duty at the check-post along Kaliyakkavilai Market Road in Kanyakumari district. The case was re-registered by the NIA on 1st February, 2020. Abdul Shameem and Thowfeek were later arrested.
During NIA investigation, the roles of accused Khaja Mohideen, Mahboob Pasha, Ejas Pasha, Jaffer Ali and Shihabudeen @ Sirajudeen @ Khalid in the conspiracy to carry out the terrorist act besides the assistance provided to the assailants in procuring illegal firearm and prohibited ammunition, for waging violent jihad was revealed.
On 10th July, 2020, charge-sheet was filed against Abdul Shameem, Thowfeek, Khaja Mohideen, Mahboob Pasha, Ejas Pasha and Jaffar Ali under sections 120B, 302, 353 and 506, 34 of the IPC, sections 16, 18, 18B, 20, 23, 38 and 39 of the UA (P) Act besides sections 25(1B)(a) and 27 of the Arms Act.
Investigation was continued against Shihabudheen@Sirajudheen@Khalid (A-7), who was absconding abroad, since January, 2020, as it was revealed that Shihabudheen had arranged the illegal fire arm and prohibited ammunition used by Shameem and Thowfeek, to commit the terrorist act.
