VivekaYogam 2014 – A Guide to Youth Leadership in Kerala inspired by Swami Vivekananda VivekaYogam 2014, a four day residential workshop for youth in Kerala based on the complete works on Swami Vivekananda, was held on May 1st to May 4th.

This unique workshop was inaugurated by Revered Swami Atmashraddhanandaji Maharaj, editor of Vedanta Kesari – a monthly, cultural & spiritual, magazine publishing for the last 100 years, Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore, Chennai. Revered Swami BhadhreshanandajiMaharaj, Adhyaksha, RK Math, Vyttila, Kochi, Sri Ajith Kumar C V, Finance Director – Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Govt. of Kerala, Sri Joby Balakrishnan, President – Ramakrishna Vivekananda SevaSamiti took part in the function.The event was hosted by Ramakrishna Math – Vyttila, Kochi, Ramakrishna Vivekananda SevaSamiti, Kochi and Sports & Youth Affairs Dept, Govt. of Kerala.

The four day workshop was lead by Revered Swami AtmashraddhanandajiMaharaj. The workshop included guided meditation, several sessions based on The complete works of Swami Vivekananda topics like Mind Control, Life of Swami Vivekananda, Vivekananda in the West, Letters, Address at the Parliament of World’s religion – Chicago, Karma Yoga, Jyana Yoga, Colombo to Almora, etcwere .ChakiyarKoothu performance on Swami Vivekananda by EdanadRajanNambiar, Group discussion, Q & A session with Swamiji, etc.

Thirty eight members took part in the workshop from all walks of life – professionals, artists, students, etc. The other main speakers at the workshop were Sri R Hari, eminent writer and former all India BaudhikPramukh – RSS, Sri Pramod Kumar M, Asst. Professor – Amrita University, Coimbatore. Each day the workshop starts at 6 pm with soothing hindustani devotional songs by Swami VineermukthanandajiMaharaj to calm the mind, followed by guided meditation by Swami AtmashraddhanandajiMaharaj, thereafter various sessions on the life & teachings of Swami Vivekananda. ChakiyarKoothu performance was a unique one. On the third day, Smt R NishanthiniRajamanickam IPS, Deputy Commissioner, Kochi city Police, took part in the Meet the Personality, an interactive session. District Collector Sri MG Rajamanickam IAS took part in the concluding session on the last day, May 4th..The workshop was welcomed with great enthusiasm by all the Youth who took part.
