‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj must always be remembered for the sake of progress of the nation’ – Dr. Mohan Ji Bhagwat

Raigarh. We should adopt from the role model like Shivaji Maharaj who embodies the qualities like desire for social reform, valour and many more other qualities. We should make an effort towards creating ideal society by imitating Shivaji Maharaj. We should strive in such a way that the world comes know about Chhatrapati. If we want to uplift Bharat, we can’t forget Shri Ram, Sri Hanuman and Chhatrapti Shivaji Maharaj. Shivaji Maharaj is guiding book for uplifting of our nation, stated RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Ji Bhagwat.

A programme was organised to celebrate 338th death anniversary of Chhatrapti Shivaji Maharaj at fort Raigad. RSS Sarsanghchalak was addressing the audience as the chief guest for the same. This celebration was jointly organised by sri Shivaji Raigad Smarakmandal, Pune and local utsav samite, Mahad. On the stage were the Hon. Guardian Minister of Raigad district Ravindra Chavan, MLA Bharat Gogavale and other dignitaries.

RSS Sarsanghchalak further stated that we should keep in mind that we are the sons of one and only one Bharatmata and therefore should do away with the caste and work towards mutual brotherhood and learn to trust each other. This will make the nation happy. Our lives would be happier if we follow this. He appealed to the gathering over there to vouch for the upliftment of the nation work towards it. Shivaji Maharaj inspired the indian for ‘Swarajya’. Most of the contemporary kings who fought the foreign forces were inspired by Shivaji Maharaj. We can feel that from King Chhatrasal from Bundelkhand’s example.

In commemoration of 338th death anniversary Shri Chhatrapti Shivaji Maharaj the scholars of shri Shiv Charitra were felicitated with Shri Shiv Punyatithi Raigad Puraskar by Shri Shivaji Raigad Smarak Mandal, Pune and local Utsav samite, Mahad. This award was given away by Dr. Mohan Ji Bhagwat. Heirs from Noble families who contributed to HindaviSwarajya and retired military officers were also felicitated during this function.

Religious programmes like  Pooja was performed in the morning at Jagdishwar temple, a Kirtan to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti also took place. Shivaji Maharaj’s palanquin procession was conducted and 21 guns salute was given by police in the honour. Cavalry from Pune had brought water from five forts to perform Pooja at the Shiv Samadhi. Thousands of youth from all over the state participated in this function.
