Andhra Pradesh (VSK). In the wake of the recent vandalism of Kodandarama idol in Kodandarama Temple of Nilachalam hills at Ramathiratham, Temple officials said that the process of removing the broken idol and restore the statue of Kodandarama would be started from Monday onwards.
Vedic scholars along with Vamsi Krishna, the principal of the Veda Pathashala from Dwarka Thirumala are coming to perform penance homas for the idols of Sita, rama & lakshmana.
The idols are displaced after performing special pujas and homas. Temple officials said that they are preparing to decide a Muhurta (better time) with Vedic scholars for the construction of BALALAYAM (Place where the idol is kept until the construction or repairs are completed). In-charge E.O Rangarao, said the temple authorities applied prior permission to the SP for conducting homas at the Kodandaram temple on Neelachalam hill of Ramathiratham.
