Parivar Shivir and Weekend Shivir organised by HSS

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) Scotland organised a weekend Shivir from June 7 to 9 in Aberfeldy (Scottish Highlands). The theme of the shivir was Shri Ram. It was attended by over 140 swayamsevaks and sevikas from Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

On June 9, a book titled ‘Hindu in Scotland – Then and Now’ was launched in the presence of Lt Col (Retd) Mark Onslow representing the British Armed Forces, Alok Kumar VHP International President, Rajnikant Parmar, Sanghchalak of North East and Scotland Vibhag, and Dr. Ram Vaidya, Vishwa Vibhag Sahsamyojak. The book was compiled by 6 swayamsevaks and sevikas of 14 to 18 years age group.

During the shivir shareerik, geet and different bauddhik sessions were organised. The Ratri Karyakram included Ganesh Pushpanjali, skit on Ramayan, and other cultural programs. Samarop bauddhik was rendered by Dr. Ram Vaidya on the subject ‘Hindu Dharma relevance to Samaaj’.

Parivar Shivir in Japan

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh Japan organised a Parivar Shivir on May 25-26 at Chiba. 40 families from 7 shakhas and more than 80 swayamsevaks and sevikas from all age groups participated in it.

Shareerik activities such as samata, niyudh and khel were conducted during the shivir. This year’s theme for the mahakhel was inspired by Sri Ram Mandir construction. Karyakartas got to know the history of HSS – from its foundation to expansion across the world. The last ten years of HSS Japan, growth of shakhas and Japan-specific activities of Sangh was also highlighted.

Charcha session discussed the ‘Role of Temples in Hindu Civilization’. Among other things, the takeaways of this session was to celebrate events like birthdays in temples, learn & spread the science behind the temples, lead a lifestyle that allows kids to emulate and learn about rituals and chant at least one Shloka / Mantra daily with kids.
