Kerala (VSK). ED’s allegation is reported about the secret bank accounts CPM Thrissur district committee enjoys in controversial Karuvannur Cooperative Bank which is in the midst of Rs 150 cr fraud. ED has reportedly found out two accounts. But there is no documental evidence for it.
Details of party accounts are to be legally disclosed. But they are reported to be in the names of CPM branch and local committee secretaries. ED suspects more than two accounts. Data and software of Karuvannur Cooperative Bank are in the custody of the Crime Branch. They are not handed over to the ED. The Agency believes that they can gather the details of the party accounts if they get those data and software.
ED has summoned the CPM Thrissur district secretary M.M. Varghese to the Kochi office and interrogated him. He was interrogated for 10 hours on November 24. Immediately ED had sent him the notice for further interrogation. The interrogation started in the morning was concluded in the night. ED says, Varghese does not cooperate; his approach is negative.
